I got wet!

An almost true 100-word loosely based on this photo prompt at Friday Fictioneers!

Oh gosh, this reminded me of something that happened last Tuesday.

It stopped raining and the sun came out, so I thought I'd ride my bicycle through the park.

It was lovely, the colours were so bright. I was peddling along whistling a jolly tune and admiring a pretty bed of Helleborus Multifidus Istriacuses and Serratulla Tinctoria Macocephalas when I suddenly I collided with a post and ricocheted into a soaking wet Krascheninnikovia Ceratoides bush.

'Bugger' I said.

A grumpy old codger stopped and instead of helping me, he said it served me right because cycling is banned in the park.

Charming!

  3. Dear Rosey,

I hope there won't be a test over these names later. Fun piece.

  4. What a lovely and fun take on the prompt. So many of us (me included) wrote about tears this week, it's good to have a laugh for a change. The plant names are hilarious.

  5. LOL! So was bicycling banned in the park or was that part made up? Are you a botanist or is that part made up too? Really cute story. I loved it.

  6. So cute, but it is always unwise to be a botanist in the saddle.

  12. My wife used to work as a gardener at the city park. Her boss was a horticulturist and typically used the Latin names of the flowers and plants. One day, I asked her if they had any Penis Erecticus blooming in their gardens. It took her a long time to catch the joke. :)
