How things have changed!

'It’s a purr-fect day' mewed Tabatha.

'Not so sure' growled Rover 'The sky does look a little ruff'

'Well, it looks alright to me–'ow about a walk?'

'A dog going walkies with a cat? People will think I’m barking mad!'

'Stop pussy footing around. Mixed relationships are all the thing nowadays'

'I guess. I admit, it has been giving me paws for thought just lately'

'Yes, and it’s not as if there’s a dogument somewhere with a claws in it saying we shouldn’t. There’s a different dogma now. It would hardly be a catastrophic situation!'

'True. Tell you what, how about you come across for a meal? I’m in apartment K9'

'Why not? I’m feline hungry right now. On second thoughts, why don’t you come here - I’ve already got some food on the go. Just promise you won’t woof it all down. I know what you’re like!'

And so it was Tabatha collared Rover. Nowadays they are often to be seen petting in the park. I’m told they are thinking of adopting a baby rabbit and calling it Trevor. How things have changed since I was a lamb.
