Settle down!

For this week's Sunday Scribblings 2 we are to create a literary masterpiece using the word Restless.

Up down, in out, round and round. Some days my cats just won’t settle down. I try talking to them and they ignore me. I sing their favourite song, three blind mice and they carry on regardless. I tell them jokes and they’re not amewsed - sorry about that!

Talking of restless, I’ll be facing twenty-two hyped up eight year olds on Monday. Teacher Tracy and I will have our work cut out bringing them back down.  The first day of a new school term can be pretty lively. Being a church school, we'll start with morning prayers. Billy will say ‘lead us snot into temptation’, George will say ‘Harold be thy name’. A couple of the lads will have alternative words to the hymns, and the girls will giggle! Bless them.

I’ll be tired when I get home, so if my cats are up and down, going round and round and in and out I will not be happy. I may even slip some crushed sleeping pills in their food. Only kidding!

  2. You could try the ball of wool trick and let them play and chase that around the house. However more than likely they will both want to find that favoured place in your lap for a rest.

    1. Oh dear no! A couple of weeks ago they un-knitted the woolly scarf I was making. I don't want to encourage them!

    1. We were worse when I was at school. I get embarrassed thinking about it!
