Happy memories

The picture at Magpie Tales took me back to my childhood.

I wonder what happened to my dolls house. I wonder what happened to the family that lived inside it.

The mind of a child knows no bounds. When you are little, anything is possible and everything you imagine is real. I spent ages playing with that little wooden house; rearranging the furniture, dusting, and doing all the things I hated doing for real as a stroppy teen - and ever since come to that!

I can still hear myself talking to the little red-cheeked mother and her gruff husband. He had a grey beard. I used to put their daughter Daisy in my pocket and take her to school sometimes.

I’d like to think my little house went to a really nice home with a daughter that loves it as much as I did. Dolls house families don’t grow older do they? I wonder what Daisy gets up to now? She always was a little naughty!

I hope it hasn’t been dumped in a cellar, or worse, demolished.

I wouldn’t like that.

  4. Or even worse the family has converted the house into a meth-lab.. Poor Daisy would not have a great future there

  5. What a cute memory. Amazing how playing with the routine of reality somehow doesn't transfer to seriously practising the reality of routine. Good one.

  6. I am so right there with you about my old doll house as well, and a few other priceless treasures that meant all the world to me. I have through the years managed to replace a few of them, like my metal doll house, and my Troll house (it's like a small suitcase) but still you always wonder about your own treasure, in hopes someone cares for it still!
