The things we did at uni!

All my mates were doing it so I thought I’d give it a go. You know what students are like.

The first thing I did was sneeze, which made me very unpopular as pounds worth of the stuff flew skyward. Five minutes later, I too was heading skyward!

It was certainly different. I mean, coming down stairs in a cupboard, pricking the end of my nose on the moon, laying in a canoe floating down a river under a duvet, and climbing a tree full of clocks was something I’d never experienced before. I reached for my coffee mug, fell on the pavement and starting kissing a leaf while an odd animal looked at me and stuck its tongue out.

The nurse in A&E was a bit grim. Not in the least bit sympathetic. Said it was my own stupid fault. I suppose it was really. She didn't even smile when I asked if they had bandages in a pretty shade of pink and asked why she had three eyes.

I had a headache. I was tired. Sooo tired. Never again. Never.

  7. Wonderful prose Rosey! It runs along in line with the surreal appeal of the painting with lots of imagery in support! And College days are repeats of childhood days but with money to make it meaningful!

  8. I think the poem takes the reader into the land of imagination...life can be an adventure at times.

  9. I think the best thing about such a trip is to wake up with just bruises.. I think universities is a dangerous place to be. Somehow you pull me into the 80s parties at Oxford.. hmm
