Magic daffodils!

I've written this for Friday Fictioneers. It's not true by the way. Well, not quite!

Last autumn I planted daffodils. They should be up now but they’re not. I saw a yellow grub the other day, so perhaps it’s eaten my bulbs!

When I looked today there were mushrooms where the daffodils should be. How’s that?

It’s magic!

I’ll have them for breakfast. Hang on... magic mushrooms, they’re a drug. So I’d better not. What if someone sees them and reports me for growing narcotics? What shall I do?

I know, I’ll burn them on the fire tonight. But the smoke might get my neighbours high.

Help!

If you've any ideas please let me know!

Hey! Exactly 100 words!

  1. Let them be. They are good for the soil.

  2. Too funny. I just mentioned magic mushrooms in a comment a few stories ago. Haven't ever had any, but have had them offered to me.

  3. Fun and fresh little piece. Pity about the daffs; they are such optimistic flowers.

  5. This is good. I want to see something like this in a newspaper advice column. I wonder what they would say.

  6. That was a lot of fun listening to your stream of consciousness. No advice. Hope the daffs come up.
