I went to jail!

It time to put together 100 words for Friday Fictioneers. I'm not entirely sure what the picture is. A prison maybe, or a bank vault or an aeroplane with lots of propellors! Anyway, I used 101 words - I hope that's not a criminal offence!

It wasn’t much fun in Lewes Prison. Then I suppose it’s not meant to be!  The clonk as the door shut behind me, and that disinfectanty smell - ewww!

I had to wear a horrible beige onesie with a number on. I asked if they had a scarf I could use to brighten it up but I just a got a stern look from the grim-faced jailor.

Mick Jagger went there in 1967 you know.  I hoped I’d see his autograph scratched on the cell wall, but I didn’t. I expect he had a penthouse!

As school trips go, it wasn’t the best!

In June 1967, Mick Jagger was found guilty of possessing drugs. After his trial, he spent one night in Lewes prison.

  1. Dear Rosey,

Quite a school outing I'd say.

  4. Hah - I thought that something was up even at the first line. Nice story (The picture is actually a document storage system in a library basement.)

  5. Funny, in an odd sort of way, was getting arrested part of the plan or a surprise. Well done either way. She seemed to be okay with the whole thing.

  6. Neat! I bet many a teacher would love to take their class on school trip to the local prison!

  7. That might turn out to be the most worthwhile school outing of all! Surprised me.

  8. Haha. You hooked me with that one. I had you committing a crime of passion or one done on the request of the one you loved -- not a school trip. Perhaps a well learnt lesson.

  12. Visiting a jail as a school trip sounds interesting, Rosey. Though I think kids wouldn't really appreciate it that much, but I guess they’ll also learn something from it. Just like why they should abide the law and not commit any crime when they grow up so they will not end up there. Haha! Well, I'm sure they had a bit of fun too. :-)
