.

At Sunday Photo Fiction, we write a story of about 200 words based on a picture we are given.

The man who rides a special flying bicycle

‘Who are you waving to?’ Mummy asked.

‘A man who rides past on a special flying bicycle with a big front wheel Mummy’ I said ‘He wears a tall shiny black hat and half a pair of glasses.

Mummy couldn’t see him of course because only children can, and then only if we have been very very good.

‘Close the curtains darling and jump into bed. Mummy is going to read you a story’ she said. I love it when Mummy reads me stories, Daddy too, but he’s usually too busy, or so Mummy says.

‘I am going to read Peter Pan to you darling’ she said. ‘He could fly you know’

Does he ride a special flying bicycle with a big front wheel Mummy?’ I asked ‘And wear a tall shiny black hat and half a pair of glasses?

Mummy said no, but it was a very nice story.

Then I fell asleep.

  5. The imaginative mind of a child sees things grown ups cannot. Reminds me not only of Peter Pan of which you wrote but also of Marry Poppins. Great writing!
